What is Men Against Domestic Violence?
In 2002, a handful of men decided we had a responsibility to urge men to speak out against violence against women. We decided that we would organize to voice men's opposition to men's violence against women.
After a short time, more men were drawn into discussion and debate on the issue of men's violence.
Goals and Focus:
Joining Men Against Domestic Violence is a personal pledge never to commit, condone nor remain silent about violence against women.
We are an educational organization to encourage reflection and discussion that leads to personal and collective action among men.
Throughout the year, we encourage men
to do educational work in schools, workplaces and communities,
to support local women's groups.
We speak out on issues of public policy.
